Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Sevdah ("the Application", "we", "our", or "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the Application, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Application.

01. open source license

Sevdah is open-source software provided under the MIT License. You are free to use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense, and/or sell copies of the software, subject to the conditions and copyright notice of the MIT License.

02. description of service

Sevdah is a standalone desktop music playback application that interfaces with your personal Google Drive account to index metadata and stream audio files directly to your device.

  • • The Application is provided strictly as client-side software operating on your personal device.
  • • The authors, contributors, and maintainers do not host, store, stream, upload, or distribute any audio files or copyrighted music content.
  • • All media files accessed through the Application belong to their respective owners/users and are streamed exclusively from the user's private Google Drive storage or local disks.

03. user responsibilities & compliance

By using Sevdah, you acknowledge and agree that:

1. Lawful Content

You have the legal right, ownership, or necessary licenses and permissions to access, store, and stream the audio files stored in your Google Drive and local disks.

2. Account Security

You are solely responsible for safeguarding your Google account credentials and maintaining the physical and digital security of your local machine where OAuth tokens are stored.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Application in any manner that violates applicable local, national, or international copyright laws or intellectual property rights.

04. google drive api & third-party terms

Sevdah relies on the Google Drive API to function. Your use of Google Drive is governed by Google's Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy .

Any modifications, rate limits, quota adjustments, or deprecations of the Google Drive API by Google are beyond our control.

05. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE APPLICATION OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE APPLICATION.

06. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS, CONTRIBUTORS, OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS OF SEVDAH BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION:

  • Loss of data, audio files, configuration files, or playlists.
  • Interruptions in service, network throttling, or inability to stream from Google Drive.
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your local data.

07. modifications to terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted directly within the repository and this page. Your continued use of the Application constitutes acceptance of those changes.

08. governing law & contact

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws without regard to conflict of law principles. If you have any questions, please open an issue in the official GitHub repository.
